BY PASTOR ROGERS CEDAR
1 Sam 15:23 “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft”.
In this one-of-a-kind book, Pastor Roger Cedar exposes the spirit of rebellion and reveals the danger of living and walking in it. He gives an insight of how the spirit of rebellion causes you to dishonor God, His Word, authority and the order that He has set in the church. Broken into seven chapters, this life-changing masterpiece will help you as a believer learn the truth about the spirit of rebellion, have a biblical knowledge of what the Bible says about rebellion and how to overcome and triumph over it so that you can live a victorious life.
Pastor Rogers says, “In my opinion the biblical concept of rebellion and lack of submission is one of the most under taught of all spiritual principles. It is not well understood and is hard for many to apply as they seek to grow toward spiritual maturity. We should seek to understand how authority operates and how to relate to it. If you know who you have to submit to, you will spontaneously know what position you should occupy in the body.
There are many Christians today in whom there is not even a thought about submission. For them there is no such thing as keeping one’s position. Submission is the first lesson whether you are in the marketplace, serving in a local church as a coworker or you are in the five-fold ministry. If a man has never met God’s authority, how can he submit to God? ”
A person who is rebellious at heart will soon utter rebellious words, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. If one can freely speak rebellious words without any inward sense of restraint, he certainly has a spirit of rebellion. It is easier to utter rebellious words than to perform rebellious acts. Man’s rebellion is expressed through his tongue. The rebel may agree with a person to his face but revile him behind his back; he may keep quiet in front of a man but have much to say aloud later on. We as the Body of Christ ought to be different; our obedience should come from the heart, which can easily be detected by the words which come from one’s mouth. God is looking for obedience from the heart.
In dealing, with the spirit of rebellion, you ought to be careful of what you speak, taking every thought captive because man manifests his rebellion not only in word and reason but in thought as well. We are to avoid having an independent spirit which is the result of an unbroken will and the lack of a servant's heart. We must be accountable. Being accountable means that you establish checks and balances in your life so that whenever you go off tangent, there is someone to help you find your footing. Accountability as one of the antidotes of the spirit of rebellion and that accountability is the insurance for your success. A majority of life's failures, success , disasters, career, tragedies and family breakdowns, have a common genesis in accountability or the lack of it. It is in remaining faithfully submitted and accountable , that will eventually cause you to have impact in life.
For you to be free from this spirit you will have to make a stand, and separate yourself from it. The spirit of rebellion will pass its’ way down from generation to generation to generation. This spirit always has a problem with seeing its own faults. It always has to be someone else. It wants the position of leadership. As long as this spirit is at work in your life you are in danger of judgement. You can be free. You are not bound to follow in their footsteps. This tells us the curse can be broken. You can be free and walk in submission. As you become knowledgeable about the true supernatural power of God that breaks every stronghold, you will rise to victory in every area of your life.
